 11/26: read for thirty minutes and fill in one column on your part of speech worksheet as you read. You must have fifteen words total with each row represented at least once with the exception of interjection. See the model on the sheet and the worksheet below.

 11/13: read for thirty minutes and write two inferences every time you finish a chapter. This should be in your writing notebook. Remember inferences are educated guesses based on the text; do not write details from the book or things the author directly tells you. 
Text inference: what did you learn about a character's personality and why s/he is this way and acting in this manner?
Author inference: what do you think the author values or believes based on what s/he emphasizes in the text?
Cultural inference: what do you think the Greeks valued or believed based on what they do in the text? Cultural inferences can be easy to spot if you look for actions that seem inconsistent with modern culture. Ask yourself why the Greeks may have valued or believed in this. Why was it important to them?
Universal inference: what can you learn about all people from the text? This should be a theme or life lesson that you could apply to your own life.
