Hello My Name Is...
I'm the visual art at Center Elementary School and Hall Memorial School. My teaching philosophy is founded on the fact that being a good teacher requires courage and a sincere love for young people. My lessons constantly reiterate the idea of personal agency, fostering both personal expression and persistence.
Many learners feel that art is something that you're either "good" or "bad" at, rather than a skill that one can nurture and grow. My classroom is framed for the learner to feel novel with each art experience, allowing them to eventually feel comfortable to stretch and explore with new art materials and techniques. Experimentation is always welcome.
